About

HAKA Naga, or Harong Katuod Naga, is a non-profit organization that officially represents the Naga City tech startup community. It is best described as a Startup Handholding Initiative for Naga-Registered Entrepreneurs (SHINE). HAKA Naga envisions developing an ecosystem that would spark technopreneurship in the Bicol Region, but also welcomes startup founders from anywhere in the world. “Harong” means a house, while “Katuod” refers to a friend in Bikolnon language. These two words combined, “Harong Katuod” signifies knowledge, wisdom and trust nurtured through shared journey and companionship. At HAKA Naga, we have a trusted community where we can learn, grow, and thrive together.

The Pioneers

The community elected its first set of officers with Ronald ‘Bong’ A. Rodriguez of LEARNr Corporation as its founding president. Other founding members include Jude Buelva of Pandalivery, Magno Conag III of Nueca Technologies, Enrico Evangelista of Bald Puppies, Gwen Joson of GINA, Karlo Largoza of Keehive Solutions, Joselito Ocol of Beecall TBI, Raymund Rosco of Servisit, Ernest San Jose of Bapplware Technologies, Harvey Valdez of Beshie, and Mitzi Evora-Largoza. Executive Director Reuel Oliver and PJ Legaspi of the Naga City Investment Board (NCIB) are pioneers of Haka Naga.

Our History

Founded in 2022 by a group of passionate startup founders and leaders, HAKA Naga evolved from pocket networking activities initiated by the Naga City Government through the Naga City Investment Board. Our community is led by Ronald ‘Bong’ A. Rodriguez of LEARNr Corporation, who serves as our founding president, along with a team of dedicated executive officers and founding members.

EVENTS

“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes … the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. … You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things. … They push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs
